Postdoctoral Research Associate, Global Health Program
The interdisciplinary Global Health Program, administered by the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, invites outstanding researchers to apply for appointments as Postdoctoral or more senior Research Associates. The Postdoctoral Research Associates will collaborate on the academic activities of the Global Health Program, in addition to conducting their own original research. Responsibilities will include providing guidance, advising and leading methodological workshops on students’ independent research projects. The Postdoctoral Research Associates may be invited to teach in one of Princeton's undergraduate programs. Any teaching is contingent on sufficient enrollments and must be approved by the Office of the Dean of the Faculty.
The term of appointment is based on rank. Positions at the postdoctoral rank are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding; those hired at more senior ranks may have multi-year appointments. Anticipated start date is August 1, 2025. Selected candidates will be required to be in residence in Princeton or the local vicinity, or demonstrate to the program's satisfaction the ability to be on campus on a daily basis and on short notice in order to fulfill responsibilities relating to in-person participation.
We seek candidates committed to interdisciplinary research in global health, who innovate methodologically and who demonstrate strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Candidates who are working in various social science or natural science disciplines will be considered.
Applicable social science fields include but are not limited to: public policy, anthropology, political science, public health, demography, economics, sociology, global health, political science, social determinants of health.
Applicable natural science fields include but are not limited to: epidemiology, disease ecology, environmental health, biostatistics, vaccination.
Applicants are required to hold a Ph.D. or expect to receive a Ph.D. degree by the anticipated start date of the appointment. Applicants must have no more than two years of postdoctoral work experience prior to the start of the appointment.

Visiting Research Scholar, Health Policy
The Center for Health and Wellbeing (CHW), part of the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, invites outstanding researchers with experience teaching university-level public health or global health policy to apply for a Visiting Research Scholar appointment.
The Scholar in this position will be invited to teach the fall semester graduate course SPI 597 Public Policy Approaches to Health and Healthcare, contingent upon sufficient enrollment and with the approval of the Office of the Dean of the Faculty. Although most Scholars will stay for the entire academic year, applications for the fall semester will be considered.
CHW supports research on the multiple aspects of health and wellbeing in both developed and developing countries. Applications are welcome from researchers in a variety of disciplines, including health policy, public health, global health, health economics, and related disciplines.
The Visiting Research Scholar will participate in activities of CHW, including faculty-graduate seminars, workshops, and public lectures, and enjoy access to a wide range of other activities throughout the University. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will devote most of their time at Princeton to research, discussions, and scholarly collaborations concerned with the determinants of physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, and the effects of public policy on health and wellbeing.
Applicants must have a doctorate or equivalent degree. The program is open to all regardless of citizenship, but it does not support work toward the completion of a degree. Typically, Visiting Research Scholars must be employed at an institution other than Princeton during their visit.
A scholar from an academic institution may be eligible to receive up to one-half their academic-year salary from their home institution for the appointment period. The amount that Princeton contributes to the scholar’s salary is based on the financial support provided by their home institution. The selected candidate will be asked to indicate, or provide written authorization for Princeton to confirm, what percentage of financial support their home institution and other sources are likely to provide during their visit, if any, and to submit a confidential statement indicating salary for the current academic year (September 2024 – May 2025) or provide written authorization for Princeton to confirm their salary.
Applicants are evaluated on the basis of (1) the quality of their achievements in their field of specialization and their ability to benefit from the activities of CHW; (2) the significance of their proposed contribution to CHW's mission; and (3) the contribution they are likely to make to research in the future.
