New Videos Capture Student Global Health Internship Experiences

Feb. 7, 2023

The Center for Health and Wellbeing (CHW) has documented the summer internship experiences of seven graduate and undergraduate students through a new series of videos. These videos showcase a handful of the 91 health-focused opportunities funded by CHW in 2022. They capture the value of experiential learning while offering a glimpse into the pivotal, often life-changing endeavors of students who travel around the country and the globe to conduct research and advance their understanding of public health policy and practice.

The first video features Ariza Francisco, an MPA candidate at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, who spent her summer at UNICEF South Africa. During her internship, Francisco, who is concentrating in international development and urban policy, analyzed national immunization data to identify challenges, barriers and bottlenecks facing unvaccinated children in South Africa. Her in-depth analysis and recommendations were ultimately presented to the National Advisory Group on Immunization, which is the highest level technical committee on immunization in South Africa.
