Dr. Kinari Webb, founder of Health In Harmony, will present “Saving Rainforests with Healthcare,” in discussion with Ramanan Laxminarayan, senior research scholar in the High Meadows Environmental Institute (HMEI), via Zoom webinar — register here to receive a webinar link.

Dr. Webb will speak about a radical new approach to conservation that partners with rainforest communities to reverse rainforest loss using their expertise about the interconnected drivers of deforestation. Rainforest communities frequently identify the lack of access to healthcare and alternative livelihoods as key factors that increase logging. Dr. Webb will speak about the dramatic impact of precisely implementing community-determined solutions for protecting forest and how this approach could be scaled globally.

This event is hosted by the Center for Health and Wellbeing in the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and co-sponsored by HMEI.
