International Health Policy Careers: Perspectives and Advice from Four Princeton Alumni

Come join as four Princeton alumni discuss their international health policy-focused career paths and offer advice to current students.  Mariandrea Chamorro, MPA ’10 is Regional Vice President of Europe, Asia and Latin America for the development consulting firm Abt Associates. Rachel Cohen, MPP ‘10 is the Regional Executive Director for the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi) North America. Alex Costa, PhD ’04 is a program specialist in the Global Health Program group at UNICEF headquarters in New York City. Erin Ferenchick ’00 is the Primary Health Care Advisor at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, and is also Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center.  The event will be moderated by Dr. Alyssa Sharkey, Lecturer at the School of Public and International Affairs.

Mariandrea Chamorro, MPA ‘10

Regional Vice President of Europe, Asia and Latin America for the development consulting firm Abt Associates. Extensive work on malaria prevention and control, maternal and child health, and health systems strengthening.

Rachel Cohen, MPP ‘10

Regional Executive Director for the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative North America. Past experience working for Doctors Without Borders, Housing Works, and the US+Cuba Medical Project.

Alex Costa, PhD ’04

Program Specialist in the UNICEF Global Health Program group, focusing on antimicrobial resistance and in-vitro diagnostics. Past experience at the World Health Organization and Clinton Health Access Initiative. Doctorate in Molecular Biology.

Erin Ferenchick ’00, M.D.

Primary Health Care Advisor at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, also Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. Past experience with Princeton in Africa, the World Health Organization and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.
